Arina East Residences location: Katong Park MRT, the East Coast and the schools

Arina East Residences is at 6C and 6D Tanjong Rhu Road (District 15), at the quiet north end of the road, between Tanjong Rhu, Katong and Fort Road. Katong Park MRT is about 4 minutes' walk away, Dunman High School is a short walk west, and the East Coast Parkway is a few minutes' drive.

Getting around

  • Katong Park MRT (TE24) on the Thomson-East Coast Line, about 290 m or 4 minutes' walk down Tanjong Rhu Road, by the developer's map. Tanjong Rhu (TE23) is the next stop towards Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay, Shenton Way and Orchard.
  • Buses on Mountbatten Road, about 350 m or 5 minutes' walk through Kampong Arang Road: services 12, 14, 30, 158 and 196, towards Pasir Ris, Bedok, Boon Lay, Serangoon, Clementi and Kampong Bahru, by the developer's slide.
  • By car: about 3 minutes to the East Coast Parkway, 4 to the Marina Coastal Expressway and 7 to the Pan-Island and Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressways, by the developer's estimates.

Walking distances and travel times are the developer's, from the sales kit. Use a map app for your own route.

Katong, Marine Parade and the East Coast

The developer places Arina East in District 15, the Katong, Marine Parade and East Coast district, at its city end: Kallang and the Sports Hub are to the north-west, Marina East and Marina Bay to the south-west, and Katong and Marine Parade to the east.

  • Parks: Katong Park by the MRT station, and East Coast Park and Marina East along the coast
  • Shopping and food: Parkway Parade and the Katong shops to the east, Kallang Wave Mall to the north-west, and Old Airport Road Food Centre
  • Sport: the Singapore Sports Hub, the Kallang Tennis Centre, the Katong Swimming Complex and the Singapore Swimming Club close by
  • Secondary schools: Dunman High School, a short walk to the west, with Chung Cheng High School (Main) and Broadrick Secondary School nearby

The places named are on the developer's location maps in the sales kit, and in OpenStreetMap.

Schools near Arina East Residences

No primary school is within 1 km, by the OneMap school query shown in the developer's sales kit. Tanjong Katong Primary School, one of the Two-Track schools, is about 1.8 km away by my map, and OneMap lists it between 1 and 2 km.

Within 2 km

Kong Hwa School is about 1.3 km away and Geylang Methodist School (Primary) about 1.9 km; OneMap lists both between 1 and 2 km. From the 2027 exercise, half of a Two-Track school's Phase 2C places go to children living within 2 km, with no distance priority inside that half, so a home within 2 km counts at Tanjong Katong Primary.

Using the address for P1

Under MOE's rules, a new home's address can be used for Primary 1 registration if the vacant possession date in your sale and purchase agreement is no later than 31 December two years after the registration year. Vacant possession is expected by 31 December 2028, which already fits the 2027 registration (children born 2 January 2021 to 1 January 2022) and every year after. The date that counts is the one in your sale and purchase agreement. How P1 registration works.

Distances are straight lines on the map from the blocks to the schools' grounds. The two blocks have their own postal codes (6C: 436885, 6D: 436886), and they sit close together, so they fall in the same distance categories. MOE's official distance category is measured from the school's boundary on OneMap; check it on onemap.gov.sg/school in your registration year.

The blocks and their views

The two blocks stand at about 45 degrees to Tanjong Rhu Road, so most homes have windows on two sides. Block 6C, the south block, has a home at each corner: stack 01 faces north, towards Block 6D (about 9 m away across the reflection pool, by the developer's plan) and the pool; 02 faces east, over the pool deck and the clubhouse towards Fort Gardens and Fortville; 03 faces south, towards De Centurion; and 04 faces west, over Tanjong Rhu Road towards Palazzetto and Emerald East. In Block 6D, stack 05 is the north-east side, towards Fortville and One Fort, and stack 06 the south-west side, over Tanjong Rhu Road, with Block 6C on its south-east.

The neighbours are mostly 14- to 18-storey condominiums about 22 to 41 m away, by the kit's estimates, with taller towers such as The Waterside further south, so the views from the 20-storey blocks are mainly over the neighbouring estates. The homes start on level 2, about 7 m above Tanjong Rhu Road, over the 1st storey car park.
