Canberra Crescent Residences location: Canberra MRT, the schools and Sembawang

Canberra Crescent Residences is at 51 to 57 Canberra Crescent (District 27), at the corner of Canberra Street in Sembawang, with the landed homes off Sembawang Road behind it. Canberra MRT is about nine minutes' walk away by the developer's estimate, Wellington Primary about 760 to 880 m, and Townsville Primary's new campus a few hundred metres.

Getting around

  • Canberra MRT (NS12) on the North-South Line: about nine minutes' walk, or three stops on bus 169, by the developer's estimates. Yishun is one stop away and Woodlands three.
  • Sembawang MRT (NS11) and Sun Plaza: three stops on bus 117.
  • Shuttle bus: a year of free service from the development, Monday to Saturday, to Sembawang MRT, Bukit Canberra and Canberra MRT, plus Sembawang Shopping Centre on Saturdays.
  • By car: Sembawang Road is at the back of the site, and the Seletar Expressway is a short drive away.
  • On foot: three side gates, south to the eateries at 120 Canberra Crescent and Canberra Plaza, east to Sheng Siong at 105 Canberra Street, and north to the bus stop, Sembawang CC and Bukit Canberra.

Walking times and bus stops are the developer's estimates; use a map app for your own route.

Food, shops and parks

Daily needs are on the doorstep in the Canberra HDB estate across the road, and the bigger malls of Sembawang and Yishun are a few stops away.

Schools near Canberra Crescent Residences

Wellington Primary School is about 760 to 880 m away, depending on the block. The developer's check lists Sembawang Primary School within 1 km of Blocks 51 and 53. Townsville Primary School is moving from Ang Mo Kio to a new campus in East Canberra, a few hundred metres away, tentatively in 2029; its first P1 class there registers in the 2028 exercise.

Within 2 km

Endeavour Primary and Canberra Primary are about 1.4 to 1.6 km away, and Chongfu School, Northoaks Primary, Ahmad Ibrahim Primary and Yishun Primary about 1.7 to 1.9 km. Yishun Innova Junior College, Nanyang Polytechnic and ITE College Central are in the area too, and the Singapore American School is nearby in Woodlands.

Using the address for P1

Under MOE's rules, a new home's address can be used for Primary 1 registration if the vacant possession date in your sale and purchase agreement is no later than 31 December two years after the registration year. The developer's expected vacant possession date is 30 April 2030, which fits the 2028 registration (children born 2 January 2022 to 1 January 2023) and every year after. The date that counts is the one in your sale and purchase agreement. How P1 registration works.

Distances are straight lines on the map from the middle of each block to each school; Sembawang Primary measures about 0.99 to 1.16 km that way, so go by the developer's OneMap check and your block's postal code. The four blocks have their own postal codes: 759827 (Block 51), 759828 (53), 759829 (55) and 759830 (57). MOE's official distance category is measured from the school's boundary on OneMap; check it on onemap.gov.sg/school in your registration year.

The blocks and their neighbours

The site is a long strip with Canberra Crescent along the south side and Canberra Street at the east end. Behind it, to the north, are the landed homes off Sembawang Road, about 16 m beyond the boundary at the nearest point by the kit's plan; further north, past Sembawang Road, the developer's view study points to greenery and the old black-and-white houses. Across Canberra Crescent, about 42 to 54 m away, is an open field that the same study marks for a future school, with the HDB blocks of the Canberra estate beyond.

Each block is set at its own angle: Block 51 faces true north and south, Block 53 is 5 degrees off, Block 55 22.5 degrees and Block 57 10 degrees, so no two blocks look straight into each other. In every block, the four stacks on the Sembawang Road side face north and the four on the Canberra Crescent side face south; the corner stacks also have a west or east side.
